Study Skills
All students in Years 7 – 12 participate in 3 specific study skills sessions throughout Terms 1, 2 and 3 which last for 1 hour each. These sessions are run by teachers who form the Study Skills Committee. In these sessions, students are taught about:

Goal setting

Learning the key words and terms used in questions

Plagarism

Learning styles

Summarising techniques e.g. mind maps, coloured paper, cheat sheets, abbreviations, setting out, etc

Why revise?

Note taking

Stress management
Activities and topics discussed at each session are dependent on the age of the students as well as the time of year. The Study Skills sessions are constantly reviewed and updated in regular meetings over the year.
One of the outcomes from the Study Skills program is the implementation and development of the Study Centre. This Centre is supervised by members of the teaching staff and Learning Support staff across a variety of faculties. It aims to help students who need extra help with homework, assessments, help with how to study, access to IT and library resources or for students who just need a quiet space to work. Transport is also available on booking.
